This is the whole of it. We are one technician and the software that books his day; there is no advertising network behind this page and no data being resold.

What we collect, and why

Your name, mobile number and email

To confirm the booking, tell you when we will arrive, and send the receipt. Your mobile is how we reach you on the day.

The service address

To check it is inside our service area, to work out the sales tax jurisdiction, and to drive there.

Your vehicle — year, make, model, engine

To price the job and to put the right oil and the right filter on the van before we set off.

Anything you type in the notes

A gate code, which side to park, a dog in the yard. Read by the technician, and nobody else.

SMS / Text messages

You choose Text or Call when you book, and choosing Text is your consent to be texted about that booking. You can change your mind at any time.

Texting is not switched on yet. Everything below describes the text programme we have registered and will run. Until it is approved, every one of these messages reaches you by email instead, and we will not text you at all.

• Messages are only about your own booking — typically 2 to 4 per booking: an arrival window the evening before, a reminder the morning of, and a payment link when the work is done. We send no marketing texts.

Payments

Payment is handled by Square on Square's own page. We never see or store your card number — no card details are entered on this site and none reach our server. If you agree to it at checkout, Square keeps your card on file against an identifier we hold, so the balance can be charged when the work is finished; we can charge it, and we cannot read it.

Who else sees anything

Only the services needed to do the job: Square for payment, Google for the calendar entry and the driving route, Twilio for text messages and calls, and the US Census Bureau's address geocoder, which receives your service address and nothing else — it is how we find the sales-tax rate for exactly where you are rather than guessing at one. Each sees only what that task needs. Nobody is sent your details for marketing, and nothing here is sold.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Ask us to delete anything not covered by that and we will.
